This console table made from an antique teak arch incorporates a reclaimed architectural element, with its original structure and carvings forming the front of the furniture.
The arch features a large scalloped central opening, surrounded by detailed carved decoration. Botanical scrolls, foliage, flowers and relief ornamentation extend across the side uprights and throughout the upper section.
The openwork frieze above the arch is an integral part of the original antique element. It is carved directly into the teak and features a symmetrical composition of floral and botanical motifs. No additional decorative element has been added to this section.
The natural patina highlights the depth of the carvings while revealing the different shades of the teak and the marks inherent to the reclaimed architectural element.
